Clay Modelling

MY IPHONE 6+

On Thursday the 3 of December we were split into 4 groups for art. We had to make something digital out of clay. What I made was a iPhone 6 +.  The hard part of making a iPhone 6 + was the cover. Before I get into that everyone had to make a plan about how to make it what you will have to use and what kinds of equipment you will have to add to it e.g charger.

A few days later I finished planning and moved onto creating it. It took me ages to get it to the best I can get it to and felt like 10 years but I finally finished.

Goosebumps

Last week on Thursday room 11 did a book study on Goosebumps. We all put on all our ideas on the presentation. Me and Quros did the drawings and the title. We got spilt in to 4 groups and the group leaders planed out were to put it. We finish it on Thursday.

Touch & Basketball

On Sunday we came up to school at 5:30.

I went with my church friends to play touch for our church touch team. I was angry because I was the slowest one there but when I took my shoes off and gassed them all. I scored 4 tires for my team. The other team scored 5 tries. We all had fun. But then it was time to go to Erema to play basketball. We got a drink from the dairy.

But there was one problem we didn’t know if the card had money in it. So when we got to the counter we were praying for it to work. It was the moment of truth. And the card worked. My uncle dropped off  me and my cousins to the basketball court next to Tamaki College. When we got there my sister was there. When we got there me and my cousin started getting the goals for my team.

When it was 10:00 we all went home. I walked to my cousin house with my sister because my dad was waiting for us there with my little brother. After that we walked home.

Touch Rugby.

TOUCH RUGBY
Every Thursday starting from week 5 we go to touch rugby practice.
But today was our final practice or game. We all enjoyed the touch rugby. The person that was teaching us was a man called Trevor. We all learnt something new from touch rugby every week.
Like how to tap the ball properly and how to plant the ball between our legs. We or so learnt to scoop the ball from the ground. Our last game was the best game that we have every played.
We got split up into four even groups. The groups were two group of boy and two groups of girls. The last 3 weeks of touch rugby were the best and I hope you enjoyed it too.

Dj Noiz

-DJ NOIZ-

The first time I listened to dj noiz was when I went to my cousin’s house and they played it for when waiting at the birthday.

My cousin said he is the man. So I looked him up and played his songs on my phone. He started his songs when he was 13. His real name is Kim Saether.

He was born in 1975 so that means he is 40. He can make ugly songs mean songs. Dj noiz is a Copenhagen based on hip hop. He also has a company called Noize-Workers.

He won Danish master titles in 1993,1994,1995,1996 and 2000.

Childhood friends Luke Monias and Norman Barkman recently discovered they were switched at over 40 years ago. They were born on the same day in 1975 at the same hospital in Canada. They were raised in the same small community and have been close friends throughout their whole lives.

Our Garden

Outside room 11 is a garden. But the people from Tamaki College came and took them all out and had to replace with new ones. So I chose the Hibiscus plant because it is one of the most beautiful plant that I have ever seen in my life. The Hibiscus is the national plant from Haiti.

Here is the Hibiscus plant:

Carter And McCaw Finish On A High

The Two mates Dan Carter and Richie McCaw ended there careers with a amazing play at the stadium at Twickenham in London. Carter's performance was as good as any of his 111 test matches. He was the All Blacks top tackler. Including the 19-points from that drop goal of his. Richie McCaw the captain of the All Blacks and the person with 148 test matches. McCaw was in fine form against the Wallabies back rowers. Steve Hansen said:
“McCaw is the greatest All Black we've ever had, and Dan’s a close second.”
“The only thing that separates them is one’s a flanker and you shouldn't play 148 Tests as a flanker. That’s unheard of.”

Parker came out fight like a lion and dominated the first two rounds. The third round before then finishing him with a powerful overhand right. The Airport

On October the 17th we had to go to the airport. We had to go pick up my sister Senila . But there was only one problem, we got there a whole hour early! so I asked my mum if we could go to McDonald's but she said no. So I asked again and again until she got really annoyed, gave up and said yes. It was 11:00 when we saw my sister at the gates. When she came out the gates I asked her if she had bought me anything.

Jupiter

Jupiter is the biggest planet and is the fifth planet from the sun. There are large clouds circling around Jupiter. The winds blow the orange cloud one way and the rest blow opposite. Jupiter's  big orange spot is a massive storm cloud that swirls around like a hurricane. Jupiter has lots of moons and two are Ganymede & Callisto. It spins on its axis faster than any other planets.

On Thursday we had a shake out drill all around New Zealand at 9:15.
It's good to be prepared for an earthquake so that you don’t die.
We went to the nearest desks which were in front of us and we dropped, covered and held on.
Well some of us got stuck.
We did this at 9:15am.

THE BLOOD MOON ON THE HORIZON

Blood Moon on the Horizon

Created on September 22, 2015
rsz_blood

A Blood moon known as a ‘tetrad’ will take place on September 28th, which is just the fourth lunar eclipse in two years.
The rare event will make the moon look up to 14% larger because it is as close to the earth than it will ever be in its elliptical orbit. However there is a chance that the eclipse won’t be visible from New Zealand and as always viewing always depends on weather conditions.
So why will the moon be a ‘blood’ red colour? When the earth eclipses a full moon the direct sunlight is blocked, but the suns rays still light up the moon. However this light has already travelled through the Earths atmosphere first, and hence causing the totally eclipsed moon to look red or brownish.

MYRON SIMPSON

Myron simpson came to our school to show us why it’s important to read. He started out at the age of 8 years old to support New Zealand. Myron simpson was born on the 30th of July in 1990 so that makes him 25. He won a silver medal in the world championship in Mexico. All his equipment that he uses are made to be aerodynamic like his helmet ,skin suit and shoes. The fastest that he has gone on his bike was 110 km an hour and if the police caught him his fine will be $700.

Julian Savea is my role model and I want him to visit us in Room 11. He plays for the all blacks and is a winger. He’s fast and skilled and plays for the Hurricanes in Super rugby.

He won the IRB’s junior players award in 2010 and was born in 1990. I want him to come and visit my school because he gets really cool tries and I  want to do that just like him.

Valentines

We went to Valentines for dinner on Saturday night. I was going to where the seafood was and one of the staff gave me a tiny octopus. I got it and put it in my sister’s face. My cousin said ‘‘We can make soup with the octopus’’.
Screenshot 2015-06-02 at 14.14.03.png
We got a cup of water and put the black stuff from the octopus inside and some salt and pepper and some ice-cream. We bet some money and the first one to drink it would get  $20. I was the first one to drink it. I was all good but 10 seconds later I was off to bathroom.

After that I had to go home. But I still got the $20 and it was all worth it!.
